Emirates Stadium

The creation of Emirates Stadium was the culmination of years of planning by Arsenal as the club sought to escape the capacity constraints of Highbury and build a ground befitting one of England's most successful clubs.

The stadium was designed by Populous (at the time trading as HOK Sport). Construction on the Ashburton Grove brownfield began in 2004 and took approximately two years to complete. • Overground: Drayton Park station is immediately adjacent to the stadium and operates on matchdays
• Car: street parking near the ground is very limited; public transport is strongly recommended
