The stadium opened in 1897 as a redevelopment of the earlier Aston Lower Grounds site. The ground is also synonymous with dramatic FA Cup ties: 55 semi-finals make it the most-used semi-final venue in the history of the competition. • Car: The stadium is situated on the A34; parking in the immediate vicinity is limited, so arriving on foot from a park-and-ride or a distant car park is recommended.
• Walking from the city centre: The walk from Birmingham city centre takes approximately 35-40 minutes.
