Overview
About the stadium
Estádio do Café, officially Estádio Municipal Jacy Scaff, is a football stadium in the city of Londrina in the state of Paraná, southern Brazil. It is the home ground of Londrina Esporte Clube, and its nickname pays tribute to coffee — the commodity that made this fertile region famous and once formed the backbone of the local economy. The ground has a distinctive horseshoe shape and sits roughly 4 km from the city centre, near the Ayrton Senna racing circuit.
Home of the coffee country
Londrina grew in the 20th century as a hub of coffee plantations, and the stadium carries that identity in its name. The official title Jacy Scaff honours a former president of Londrina EC.
- Official name: Estádio Municipal Jacy Scaff

History
Journey through time
The stadium was built in a very short time so that Londrina Esporte Clube could compete in the 1976 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. The inaugural match was played on 22 August 1976 against the famous Flamengo and finished in a 1–1 draw.
From coffee plantations to top-flight football
Thanks to its rapid construction, the arena became a symbol of the ambitions of Londrina and the wider Paraná region. The record attendance of 54,178 was set on 15 February 1978 during Londrina's clash with Corinthians — a figure far above today's capacity, reflecting the more open terraced stands of that era.
- Opened: 22 August 1976 (Londrina 1–1 Flamengo)
- Record attendance: 54,178 (15 February 1978 vs. Corinthians)
- Hosted matches of the 2000 CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament
- In 2001 it staged numerous league matches relocated here during a nationwide energy-rationing crisis
Besides Londrina, clubs such as Portuguesa Londrinense and Matsubara have also used the ground over the years.
Atmosphere
Matchday
The atmosphere at Estádio do Café draws on the pride of Paraná football and the passion of Londrina's supporters, for whom the ground is the heart of the club's identity. The horseshoe layout funnels the noise behind one goal, creating a striking backdrop especially during derbies and Série B or C promotion battles.
The Shark and Paraná passion
Londrina's fans, who call their club Tubarão (the Shark), bring colour with blue-and-white flags and drums. In big games against Paraná rivals and Brazil's traditional giants, memories stir of the days when the stands packed in tens of thousands.
- Club nickname: Tubarão (the Shark)
- Colours: blue and white
- Season highlights: regional Paraná derbies and crucial promotion fixtures
- The open horseshoe gives the arena an airy, sun-soaked character typical of Brazilian provincial football
